Tori & Paul // DIY Wedding // Atlanta Wedding Photographer

Updated: Sep 23, 2019

This wedding day couldn’t arrive soon enough! Tori and Paul planned their DIY wedding with much love. They chose a meaningful location where he proposed to her and where they love spending weekends off the grid with her kids. The Unicoi State Park in Hellen provided a gorgeous scenery for this intimate wedding. And best of all, the rain stopped for them to have their ceremony and reception blessed by the beautiful great outdoors!

Georgia provides so many wonderful options for adventurous couples who love the great outdoors! The City of Helen, surrounded by the amazing mountains of North Georgia is the perfect setting for elopements, intimate weddings, destination weddings or even traditional ceremonies. Tori and Paul got married during the popular Oktoberfest, so after all was said and done, we had the chance to explore the city in full wedding gear and capture some amazing moments.

I have personally known Tori for over five years now and I was so excited to be her wedding photographer! When she first got engaged I just had to congratulate her and shamelessly offer to be her photographer! I just couldn't let this awesome wedding on the hands of anyone else! Although the bride and groom were budget conscious and did most of everything themselves, this DIY wedding was absolutely gorgeous proving that how much you spend isn't what matters at all. It is all about the love you feel for one another. And that, my friends, shows in each and every photo!

Her wedding dress (from DH Gate by the way) fit her flawlessly, every detail honored her late mother (photos, bouquet detail, and even a necklace with her ashes!) Some of my favorite photos of this wedding are the candids during the ceremony when the bride and groom couldn't`t hide their feelings. Their love, anxiety and great sense of humor was written all over their faces! The photos of Tori with her children also felt really special. These two kids are just so amazing like their mother!
